One of my favorite classic Italian desserts is almond biscotti with fresh citrus and gelato. It's so simple, but the bold flavors really pack a punch. This bright variety of citrus paired with almond biscotti, gelato and olive oil just feels so quintessentially Italian. Don't skip out on the sea salt flakes - it brings all of the flavors together in a really beautiful way!
I love making desserts like this for entertaining because you can have all of the components ready in advance - and it really doesn't require much effort! You can segment the citrus fruits and let them hangout in the fridge covered for up to a day or two. Serve this up with a dessert wine for a truly classic way to end an Italian meal.
