Ingredients

  • 6 sticks of string cheese
  • 12 pretzel sticks
  • 6 long or 12 short thin chives
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard

Instructions

  1. As seen on: Giada's Holiday Handbook, Season 2, Episode 1. Halloween Open House.
  2. Cut each piece of string cheese in half so you have 2 shorter sticks. Working one at a time, make 4 cuts vertically stopping about 3/4 of an inch from the top. Roll the cheese so the cuts are not parallel to the cutting board and make 2 or 3 more cuts, making the bristles of the broom. Press a pretzel stick into the top of the cheese stick to make the handle. Tie a chive in the middle of the space left together at the top as the tie that would hold it together. Continue with the remaining brooms.
  3. Spread the mustard haphazardly on the bottom of a black or white plate. Stand the brooms up on their bristles as if they are sweeping up the mustard.

Great snack to make and munch during mother-daughter time while watching “Just Add Magic” on Amazon Prime video.
