Get the bambini helping out in the kitchen with something fun: homemade pasta!
This Sunday, I taught Jade and a bunch of her friends how to make pasta at Eataly in LA. I firmly believe that kids are not only capable in the kitchen, but that it's great for them to get involved and learn how to cook early... and best of all? They love doing it. We all had a blast!
To any who haven't attempted homemade pasta, it can seem daunting - but trust me, it couldn't be easier (don't be scared off by the cooking competition shows!) Many Italian chefs don't even have a rigid recipe, but simply go by the feel of the dough. Once you've gotten a couple homemade pasta nights under your belt, it becomes a simple and intuitive process that, for me, feels therapeutic to do.

So the next time you feel like a gourmet at-home meal, grab the bambini - have them help you make some fresh pasta! Your kids will feel so accomplished after making a delicious bowl of pasta from start to finish - and you'll feel glowingly proud.

Grab the step-by-step recipe for my homemade pasta below, along with some of my favorite tried-and-true sauces. And if you don't know what sauce to pair with your pasta shape of choice, check out my definitive guide to pasta shapes!
Thanks again to Eataly for letting us take over the space, and for all the help! XO
