Five of Giada’s most giftable recipes that are guaranteed to please any recipient.

Though we do our best to make our holiday gift list thoroughly and check it twice, inevitably we’ll end up in a last-minute gifting situation – for a teacher, co-worker, or unexpected invite to a holiday party. In those situations when there isn’t time to shop, or if you’re not sure what the recipient might like best, Giada likes to turn to a homemade gift to save the day.

Cookies are almost always a crowd-pleaser, but they’re not the only option. These five recipes are easy to make, long-lasting, and are ready to tie up with a pretty ribbon and a gift tag at the drop of a hat. Whether you’ve been surprised by a last-minute giftee or just looking to consume a little more conscientiously this year, these homemade gifts deliver a deliciously thoughtful surprise that will touch any recipient’s heart.

Maple Olive Oil Granola

Maple Olive Oil Granola

Salty-sweet and irresistibly crunchy, Giada loves to snack on this granola by the handful! Stored in an airtight container like a mason jar, it will stay fresh up to two weeks (if it doesn’t get devoured first!).

Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Any dog owner will surely appreciate a gift made just to please their four-legged friend! These all-natural treats are a favorite with Giada’s dogs and are made with just a few whole-food ingredients, so they’re safe for most finicky pups’ stomachs (though it’s always a good idea to include an ingredients label).

Homemade Limoncello

Homemade Limoncello

This sunny lemon liqueur is a signature of the Amalfi Coast. There, it%u2019s made by steeping the incredibly fragrant local lemons in a neutral spirit, but you can make your own with a good vodka and organic lemons from the grocery store.

Balsamic Candied Nuts

Balsamic Candied Nuts

If you’re heading to a cocktail party and want to bring a hostess gift that’s a little more interesting than another bottle of wine, these addictive candied nuts are always a hit. Make sure you use a good balsamic vinegar to give them a rich, complex flavor.

Baci (chocolate truffles)

Chocolate Hazelnut Truffles

Baci, the Italian name for these little sweets, means “kisses,” and that’s exactly the sentiment they’ll inspire when you give them to a chocolate lover. With a whole roasted hazelnut and espresso-spiked creamy chocolate coating, they’re a decadent treat perfect for the holiday season.
