Facial oils have regained popularity in recent years and there are loads to choose from, but facial oil isn't a new beauty phenomenon.
Women around the world have been using oils in their beauty routines for centuries because the right oil has the power to transform your complexion.
Naturally packed with good-for-you ingredients like antioxidants and omega fatty acids, oils can be used to cleanse, moisturize, strengthen and beautify our skin, not to mention add shine to our hair. They can be used alone or combined with your favorite beauty products. They are amazing at removing eye makeup because they're gentle, and the oil that's left behind after wiping off your mascara will help your lashes grow in thicker and stronger. They also deliver extra nutrients to your skin making them the perfect companion to a day or night cream.
To apply any facial oil morning or night, warm 1-2 drops of oil between your hands after cleansing and apply to your face, neck and decolletage in gentle, upward strokes.
I have normal skin, and my favorite facial oil is Jouer's Daily Repair Oil. This superstar anti-aging oil contains Revinage™, a certified organic, plant-based bioretinol complex that mimics the positive effects of a Retinol without any of the harsh side effects. It's also packed with rose hip oil, starflower oil and chia seed oil and vitamin C so it's full of antioxidants and super hydrating plus it reduces dark spots and hyperpigmentation while stimulating collagen production. It helps minimize fine lines and wrinkles and is clinically proven to increase hydration.
If you have blemish or acne prone skin, opt for Jouer's Daily Clarifying Treatment Oil. This lightweight oil contains Beracare AAA®, a certified organic oil complex that regulates your skin's oil production. It's non-comedogenic and has anti inflammatory and antibacterial ingredients including neem and jojoba oils that can help prevent and correct acne, eczema and rosacea.
A more affordable pick for any skin type is the Illuminating Rosehip and Cranberry Oil by derma e. This natural oil is full of antioxidants and fatty acids including cranberry and organic pumpkin seed oils. The main ingredient, rosehip oil, contains phenols that have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties that are particularly good for keeping acne at bay. It also encourages cell turnover which reduces scars and and fights hyperpigmentation. Like other oils, it will leave your skin hydrated and glowing.
Another affordable favorite is the Yes To Blueberries Face and Neck Oil, which is ideal for mature skin because it's packed with anti-aging properties. Safe for sensitive skin, blueberry seed oil is one of nature's most powerful antioxidants. It helps regenerate the skin naturally while nourishing and deeply moisturizing to fight wrinkles and even out skin tone. This oil is a mega-hydrator, so it's also great for dry skin and can even help fight and prevent eczema.
One last favorite I don't want to leave out is the EO French Lavender Body Oil. It's safe for your face and body and can be added to your bath, used as a massage oil or as an alternative to your body lotion. Like the facial oils, it's loaded with super hydrating oils including almond and jojoba plus Vitamin E to protect your body's largest organ. I love massaging my body and feet with this oil before bed because the lavender scent helps me get to sleep quickly, and I wake up with soft beautiful skin.
