Ingredients

  • 1 1 pound bag fresh cranberries
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons orange zest (from 1 orange)
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cinnamon stick (broken in half)

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients together in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon.
  2. Turn the burner off. Using the back of your spoon, lightly mash the cranberries to desired consistency. Remove and discard the cinnamon sticks. Transfer the cranberry sauce to a serving bowl. Chill until ready to serve.

The recipe calls for a 1lb bag. The bags at my store are 12oz. I failed to adjust the math and the sauce is too watery. Will pitch and try again.

Easy and very simple to make. I did add just a touch of sugar to smooth some of the tartness. Love the taste of Orange and the maple syrup. Will definitely make again.

I was so proud of myself for making this recipe. I made this for Thanksgiving and my family loved it.
