Come holiday season, mulled wine usually gets all the attention, but I'm switching things up with an extra-festive mulled cranberry punch. It's a bit sweeter, and the vodka makes it more party-friendly. It's essentially a cranberry Cosmo in punch form! Simmer the cranberry juice with brown sugar, cloves, star anise, and cinnamon to infuse it with holiday flavor — and to make your house smell delicious. Once it's cooled, just add the alcohol and serve over ice!
This is one of my favorite holiday cocktails because the recipe is made to serve a crowd. For more single-serve options, you can never go wrong with my holiday negroni or jam cocktail. Plus, no party is complete without a festive treat — my new and improved holiday biscotti is perfect!

Ingredients
Mulled Cranberry Juice:
6 cups unsweetened cranberry juice
3 cups light brown sugar
10 cloves
6 pods star anise
3 cinnamon sticks
Punch:
9 cups vodka
1 1/4 cups triple sec
Orange twist (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
As seen on: Giada's Holiday Handbook, Episode 3. Friendsgiving Party.
For the mulled cranberry juice, combine the cranberry juice, brown sugar, cloves, star anise and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for 30 minutes. Let cool to room temperature before placing in the refrigerator to cool completely. Strain just before using.
For the punch, combine the vodka, triple sec and 4 1/2 cups of the mulled cranberry juice in a large punch bowl over ice or a juice ice mold (see Cook's Note). Stir to combine. Garnish with the orange twist if using.
