Giada gave the new polarizing viral Balsamic Soda trend a whirl, and we've got the results.

If you stay up to date on viral Tik Tok trends, you've surely seen the newest one making the rounds: adding a splash of balsamic vinegar to soda water. This viral balsamic soda is supposed to be a healthier alternative to sugary colas, and the reception to this trend is all over the map.
Some love it, some hate it - and we think it has a lot to do with the quality of the Balsamic vinegar.

Certain vinegars, like Ponti Cherry vinegar, are actually recommended to be used in cocktails and drinks. Vinegars that are made with the purpose to mix into drinks are called shrubs, and they offer a sweet, tart note of flavor to help balance cocktails. With a musky, sweet, rich flavor profile, balsamic vinegar in a drink just makes sense to us.

Giada gave this viral balsamic soda trend a whirl on Tik Tok, using an 8-year Balsamic vinegar of Modena and some cold sparkling Pellegrino. The verdict? She loved it! "It's really good... it's REALLY good!" She exclaims, before noting "I think it has to do with what kind of balsamic vinegar you use." In a recipe with only two ingredients and Balsamic as the star, it makes sense.
Giada offered her boyfriend Shane a taste of the drink. After taking a sip and a few moments of contemplation, Shane's opinion was... "I don't know about this." We don't blame you, Shane - everyone has a different palate, and the tart-sweet taste might not be for everyone. If you love kombucha or drinking vinegars, this Balsamic soda is right up your alley. If you think you might be more on Shane's side of the spectrum, try giving Giada's Italian Amaro Soda a taste - Amaro, gingerale and lime all come together to offer some delicious grown-up soda flavor.
