For a rejuvenating drink, I like to borrow a tradition from Latin America and whip up a batch of this watermelon agua fresca. Thirst-quenching blends of fruit, water, and sometimes grains or seeds, agua fresca is a street food staple that’s simple to make— and to drink glass after glass. (If you really want to unwind, you can add a shot of tequila, vodka, or other spirit to each serving for a more grown-up glass.) My version enhances the fruit’s natural sweetness with an agave-based simple syrup, and gets a refreshing boost from the addition of mint.
