For The Calabrian Chili Honey:
For The Assembly:
Instructions
- For the hot honey, combine the 2 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon calabrian chili paste, and pinch of salt in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 15 seconds. Mix to combine. If needed, microwave for an additional 15 seconds. Alternatively, you can gently simmer in a small saucepan and remove from the heat when the consistency is saucey and drizzle-able.
- Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F.
- Dust a rimmed baking sheet lightly with flour. Place the pizza dough on the flour and gently stretch and form the dough into a 12 by 13-inch oval using your fingertips.
- Spoon the tomato sauce over the pizza dough, leaving ½ inch empty around the rim for a crust. Evenly sprinkle with ½ teaspoon salt. Sprinkle the torn mozzarella over the sauce, and drizzle evenly with roughly 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the crust is golden brown on the edges.
- Once out of the oven, allow the pizza to cool slightly for 5 minutes. Drizzle with the Calabrian honey and top with fresh basil, if desired.
