Real-deal IGP or DOP Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is so naturally rich and syrupy, it only makes sense to take advantage of its flavor for sweet applications. In this parfait, we turned to aged balsamic that pairs beautifully with tart and sweet berries, tangy yogurt and toasted nuts. You can use this recipe to make 2 large servings, or 4 smaller servings that would be perfect to serve as a course at a brunch.

PS - love this combination? Make something similar for dessert by swapping out the yogurt with vanilla gelato or ice cream.

Instructions

  1. Toast the nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, stirring occasionally, for about 3 to 5 minutes, being careful not to burn them. Allow the nuts to cool before using.
  2. In two glasses or bowls, spoon half of the total amount of yogurt into each. Take half of the total amount of berries and evenly sprinkle them into each glass. Top with half the total amount of nuts. Divide 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar between each. Top with the remaining yogurt, remaining berries, nuts, and a final drizzle of balsamic. Serve right away.
