Giada's Go-To Brown Rice Breakfast Bowl
I like to start my mornings with a grain. Usually I go for this olive oil oatmeal but lately, I’ve been opting for this brown rice and olive oil duo. I love the fat and decadence of the olive oil and best of all, it’s a super-simple way to start the day!




Giada's Go-To Brown Rice Breakfast Bowl

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup long grain brown rice rinsed
- 2 cups water
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon flake salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Add the rice, water and bay leaf to a medium sauce pan. Place over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a tightfitting lid. Simmer over low heat for 35 minutes or until all of the liquid is absorbed. Turn off the heat and allow the rice to steam for 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
- Divide the rice into 4 bowls. Drizzle each bowl equal amounts of olive oil and 1/4 teaspoon flake salt.
