Our Oldest (And Newest) Holiday Tradition
I love hearing from people about the work I’ve done that really connects with them, and this time of year, it’s the Holiday Handbook I hear about most. Longtime viewers will remember I had a handwritten book on the show that was filled with holiday recipes and tips. If I were to write that book again today, here’s what it would hold: my favorite ideas for party themes, crowd-pleasing recipes, and the little tricks I’ve picked up over the years to make all that entertaining easier. I hope this new version of my Holiday Handbook helps you find more joy this season!
Simply Classic Christmas Dinner
Recipes, like people, are guaranteed to evolve over the years – every time I make one of my dishes, I discover a little trick to save time, or a tweak to suit what tastes good to me today. I took a look at some of my favorite recipes for a comforting holiday dinner and made them simpler and less time-consuming. Less stress and more time for holiday fun? That’s a reason to celebrate!

Laid Back Game Night
Christmas Eve for my family has always been game night. After dinner, everyone gathers around and we have a raucous game going in no time! Whether you’re getting competitive with a round of my nonno’s favorite card game Mercante in Fiera or just settling in for some laughs, you can’t skip the snacks. Aperitivo-style cocktails and filling, eat-with-one-hand snacks make the evening complete.
Winter Wonderland Brunch
I love a holiday brunch – people tend to get so overloaded with cocktail parties and dinners this time of year, but they’re always happy to fit a brunch into their schedule! Even though there’s no snow in L.A., I think it’s so fun to go wild with the wintry decorations for this: make paper snowflakes, add some fluffy cotton-ball snow to your table centerpiece, or just string up lots and lots of twinkling lights.
