Bologna, Italy
Rome Travel Guide

Considered the culinary capital of Italy, Bologna is a foodie’s paradise. As the actual capital of the Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy, Bologna is celebrated for local culinary treasures that have become world-famous, like mortadella, parmigiano reggiano and balsamic vinegar. (The city is named la grassa, “the fat one,” after all!) But it’s also full of medieval charm.
