There comes a point in every Christmas season when the panettone has been stretched to the limits and is getting undeniably stale. If you’ve splurged on my favorite artisan version From Roy or a luxurious Italian import, you don’t want to see a single slice go to waste! Try my trick to turn it into a whole new dessert: slice off the top and scoop out the inside of the bread, tear it into chunks, and toast them until they’re golden brown and delicious. Whip up some cream and mascarpone, layer everything back in with your fruit of choice, and voila! You’ve got an epic, family-style (and no-waste!) dessert.
