Turn whiskey into something new entirely with just two ingredients!
We’ve long been intrigued with a tradition that Giada does annually every holiday season: infusing whiskey with bananas and cinnamon. “On its own, Irish whiskey has banana notes,” she says, “so infusing it with bananas brings out the fruity flavor even more.” We had to try it for ourselves! Four bananas, a canister of cinnamon sticks, and a bottle of Jameson later, and we’re sold.
The banana and cinnamon transform the whiskey into something new entirely! That fiery bite of whiskey is replaced with a smooth, sweet finish of banana flavor, with that quintessential warming spice from cinnamon radiating throughout. It is so pleasant to drink straight on it’s own, and we can see clearly why this is a longstanding tradition in Giada’s home.
Keep it for yourself for a conversation-starting cordial when people stop by, or simply pour into bottles and give them away as unique gifts during the season.
