When it comes to Superbowl Sunday, we’re always looking for something that can be made ahead of time – Giada’s pizza panini fits the bill!
Imagine all of the flavors of pizza, wrapped up in a super crispy panini. Nothing wrong with that! These sandwiches are loaded with sausage, peppers, onions, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, Parmesan and marinara on ciabatta buns. Once they’re filled to the brim, we griddle them up in a pan. The secret is to use a second pan to press them down – that creates that delicious super-crispy panini texture. Once they’re done, there’s super crispy bread on either side, and a cheesy pizza filling on the inside. Is your stomach growling yet? (Mine is!)
While you can serve these panini up hot as soon as you finish cooking them, we’ve got great news: they’re delicious served cold, too. You can fully make them in advance, and serve them up hours later on a platter – plus, they’re easier to cut up when cold, too. Go ahead and scratch “main course” off the list for your game day spread – Giada’s pizza panini is a stress-less recipe that has got you fully covered.
