In a pinch? This technique will cool your wine down to drinkable in mere minutes
In a perfect world, we’d always be ready to entertain friends at a moment’s notice. The cupboards would be stocked with grissini (my cocktail party staple!)and other snacks, and wine would always be at the perfect temperature, ready to drink.
In reality, there are few days when anyone’s home is in that perfect, company-ready place. And unless you’ve got unlimited space in your fridge, or had the foresight to put extra bottles in a wine chiller or other gadget, it’s certain you’re going to wind up with at least one lukewarm bottle of rosé and a thirsty crowd waiting for their vino.
Rather than plop ice cubes in your wine glass or subject your friends to a less-than-refreshing pour, use this way technique to chill wine down in minutes. By wrapping a wet towel around the bottle before sticking it in the freezer, you draw cold to the glass and hold it there, where you need it. This method will get you to perfectly chilled wine in just 10 minutes, so go ahead and invite friends over for that backyard BBQ, knowing you’ll be ready to keep the wine flowing!
