You’ve seen them in all of our Instagram shots, and no visit is complete without seeing them – the iconic rock formations in Capri.
They collectively go by the name “Faraglioni,” and a snapshot of the dramatic rock formations jutting out of the deep-blue Mediterranean sea is a must for all visitors. They each have their own individual name, too: the closest to the shore goes by Stella, the middle one (with the famous archway) is called Faraglione di Mezzo, and the furthest one goes by Scopolo (Interestingly enough, Scopolo provides a home to a particular species of lizard called Podarcis sicula coerulea, and it’s the only place in the world where they live).
