Perugia is the quaint little capitol of Umbria, and with sun-kissed cobbled streets and ancient medieval walls, it’s at its most picturesque in autumn. This underrated travel spot is up on a hill, and the views of orange, yellow and crimson fields and trees below in the fall isn’t to be missed.
Known for being one of the most spectacular lakes in its region, Lake Como is picture-perfect in the spring and summer – but wildly beautiful in fall. In October, the hillsides burst with autumnal color and creates the most serene atmosphere. Since the summer crowds have gone, you can take peaceful walks down promenades to view the surrounding landscape, or opt for a ferry ride to take it all in.
