This clean green smoothie tastes great whether I’m on the road or at home and the best part – no juicer required!
I’m on the road a lot. It seems I’m constantly on a plane to New York for the Today show or to Vegas to check on my restaurant, and staying healthy while I’m traveling can be tricky. I always bring vitamin C to keep my immune system bolstered and something nutritious to snack on if I get hungry, and I’m also always on the lookout for clean foods that keep me on track – or that get me back on track after a long flight.
In New York, I usually stay at the Four Seasons. It’s central to most everything, including Central Park, and it’s a quiet refuge for me from the hustle and bustle of the city. I love New York, but I’ll never get used to the pace! It’s the Italian and Californian in me! While I was staying there, I guess it was about a year ago, I discovered the hotel’s signature green juice. I was working in my room and looking for a quick, light snack, and decided to give it a try. It’s been my go-to ever since!
It’s refreshing and light, because of the air that’s incorporated by blending the ingredients (versus juicing), while the slight thickness from the pulp makes it feel satisfyingly substantial. I love it so much, I make it at home – and now you can too!
