Planning the menu for a party is important and so is organizing how and on what it will all be served. Don’t get caught ‘empty-handed’ as everyone sits down to eat! Pick your platters beforehand with this simple tip.
When I’m hosting a big dinner, I like to do as much as possible in advance. And that includes something we never really talk about, like, do I have enough platters?!
There’s a hack for that! About a week before the main event, I pull out all my serveware and put sticky notes on them with the name of the dish: mashed potatoes, string beans, pie, and so on. Same goes for serving utensils. If you have extra, keep those handy in case they fall to the floor (you know it’ll happen).
I actually take it one step further and place everything on my dining table to make sure everything fits.
It makes life so much easier, especially as we get ready for the holiday season!
